The Boy and I have been awaiting the Xbox 360 Trivial Pursuit release with eager anticipation. We’ve had a lot of fun with Scene It on the Xbox 360, and were looking forward to a general quiz game.
About five minutes after commencing a game this evening, I was rendered speechless. One of the “Science and Nature” questions was, in my opinion, rather inappropriate.
“Which dangerous breed is this?” was the question that accompanied a picture of a Rottweiler. Other options were Alsatian and Pit Bull.
I didn’t want to answer the question, because frankly, I don’t think that there is much merit in labelling breeds of dog as “dangerous”. As with most things, the issue is not black and white.
For what it’s worth, all the Rottweilers I have encountered to date have been beautiful, good natured dogs. Powerful, certainly, and deserving of responsible, caring owners, like any dog.
So much for a fun evening… Thanks EA/Hasbro!
WTF?! Generalisations like the these are clumsy and misleading. Only dog that’s ever nipped me was a poodle. Some rotties are just gorgeous, I saw one at a craft fair last year that was just stunning, I’ve never seen a shinier coat. It was a daft idiot of a dog.

Wow, that’s crazy! I honestly don’t think there is such thing as a ‘dangerous’ dog. It is all about knowing how to take care of the animal correctly.
I certainly think the game lived up to its title as “trivial” with that question. Maybe it should be “Cliche Pursuit” or “Stereotype Pursuit”
It’s like when The Sims had a Pet Store where you could buy dogs and cats from
I forgot to mention just how hooked I am on Fallout 3. I have spent upwards of 100 hours exploring the world and doing quests. I am down to only having the final quest in the main storyline and instead have walked away to just explore the rest of the territory, find all the places I haven’t visited yet, and see if there are any quests I’ve missed. The game is nearly perfect. With the exception of it not allowing you to level past 20…yet…it is wonderful. I’m so glad I picked it up.
And to think, all they had to do was add in a dangerous dog legislation (so “which dangerous dog under the We are stupids and think that all dogs of a certain breed are the same Act 2008″ that it’s in, and they would’ve been fine.)
